Tapuacan River – River of the North

Welcome to the cleanest river of the North, Tapuacan River. This is located in the  municipality of PUGO and the province of La Union. The smallest town of La Union which is sited in the foot Santo Tomas mountains range and about an hour away from Baguio City via Marcos Highway!

It was worth going if you enjoy  a cool water from a river streams and a quiet place to relax and just hear the water flows and the birds sings. I truly fell in love with this river. People in the area make sure that river don’t collect garbage as they clean it up from time to time.

If you want to visit Tapuacan River, better bring  your own foods and beverages as there is no nearby restaurant to buy food from, but there is one sari sari store where you can get softdrinks and other drinks. A rocky  place, so if you are bringing kids along make sure you hold them as the rocks are slippery and dangerous for kids to play. But once you are already settled in a rented cottage, I bet you will enjoy the scene and the water.

    1. Thanks a lot. I am sure mag eenjoy ka kung pupunta ka sa Tapuacan River. Gaya ng sabi ko sya ang cleanest river ng North. I stayed up to sunset para makuha lang kaganda ng sunsets nila….Pero may oras lang talaga ang stay sa river is up to 6pm. Kasi sobrang dilim at walang ilaw.

    1. Sudipen is far from PUGO. Pugo is just in the foot of Baguio City, around 45 mins. via marcos highway. You should try and visit the area, it’s a clean clear river..You will surely enjoy!

    1. We didn’t rent a cottage during that time we visit. We just stayed in the rocks. It just around 500 meters away from the town proper.. There is a payment of 50 pesos in the parking area. We are advised to stay until 6PM during summer time because it is already dark. You can camp there but no overnight stay.
