I have been longing to go to Taal, Batangas. I have seen and heard many stories about the Saint Martin de Tours Basilica or simply the Taal Basilica. I have to see it for myself how big and beautiful the Taal Basilica is. It is considered to be the largest in the Philippines and also in Asia. According to wikipedia it stands at 96 meters long and 45 meters wide.
So how did I get there?
Coming from Dasmarinas, Cavite via car, I took the Aguinaldo Highway. Passing the town of Silang, Cavite going straight to Tagaytay City. When in Tagaytay City go straight going to Tagaytay-Nasugbu Road, Upon reaching the arc of Welcome Nasugbu you need to turn to the left side, where there is a road called PAYAPA Road. When you reached the end of Payapa Road, turn left going to LEMERY Batangas. There is an alternate route, via Diversion Road. Instead of going inside the town of Lemery take the Highway, it is the road to the left before you reach the Welcome Lemery Arc. Just follow the main road of the highway and upon reaching the intersections where a FLYING V Gasoline station is located, you need to turn right. That is the road going straight to the Heritage town of TAAL, Batangas. Approximately from Dasmarinas, Cavite to Taal, Batangas it is 64 kilometers and would take around 1 1/2 to 2 hours drive.
If coming from Manila there are many buses going to Batangas.
So without any more words to say, I am presenting the photos of the Saint Martin de Tours Basilica of Taal, Batangas.
I do hope you enjoyed the beauty of the Saint Martin de Tours Basilica of Taal Batangas. I know I did. It was a pleasure seeing it for the first time. Now I know why it is called the oldest and biggest church of the Philippines and even Asia. You need to see it for your self to appreciate it.
