I call it a pride of Mindanao and a treasure kept of Surigao Del Sur. Tinuy-An Falls is considered the widest waterfalls of the Philippines with a 95 meters wide and 55 meters high (180 ft.), touted as the Niagara falls of Philippines.
Discovering the Tinuy-An falls is already an adventure which is worth a trip, as I’ve mentioned to my previous post ( The Adventure to Surigao Del Sur ).
Tinuy-An falls is located in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur in the southern Philippine island of Mindanao.
To get here from Manila, we took an early flight to Davao via Cebu Pacific, which is around 2 hours travel. Upon arriving in Davao, it’s either you hire a van or taxi to take you to Bislig, Surigao Del Sur or wait for a bus that goes to Mangagoy, Surigao Del Sur. Going by bus will take you 7 to 8 hours travel or longer as it will stop from one town to another to pick up passengers. Hiring a taxi or van which is more expensive will get you there faster (5 hours).
You might also like to consider getting a flight going to Butuan instead of Davao, if you are not doing anything else in Davao.
Tinuy-An falls is 15 kilometers from the highway of Bislig, Surigao Del Sur. Riding a habal habal or skylab going to the waterfalls is a great experience to an adventurer like me and my fellow photographers.
So presenting the Tinuy-An falls of Surigao Del Sur. Hope your eyes will enjoy the view as I have enjoyed myself taking photos of the great Tinuy-An falls.
These photos are taken from the lower portion of the Tinuy-An Falls. It is a three layered waterfalls.
These photos are the middle portion or the main waterfalls of the Tinuy-An falls. You can ride a balsa going to the main waterfalls to enjoy it.
And these photos are from the upper portions of the waterfalls where you can enjoy a hydro massage, I know we did. After taking a lot of photos, we experienced how good the waters are going and dropping to your body. A great and refreshing feeling.
A few shots of the waterfalls during late afternoon to early evening. We got this chance to stay a little late and have this photos. Usually they closed or people are not allowed to stay that late because going back to the town is hard because there are no street lights along the way. But we able to manage to go back to the hotel.
Hope you enjoy the photos you have seen here. For more photographs of the Tinuy-An falls, you can subscribe to my facebook account ( https://www.facebook.com/arman.barbuco ) or follow us on our facebook fan page ( https://www.facebook.com/apinoyadventurer ).
