Here goes again your Pinoy Adventurer. I have been invited to witness and enjoy the 3rd Minasa Festival of Bustos Bulacan.
So what is Minasa Festival?
Bustos Bulacan is famous for its month of January Minasa Festival showcasing the town locally made food products like the irresistible delicacies Minasa cookie and the dry-like wafer crispy Barquillos. The Minasa Festival event is a televised week-long festivity of street dancing parade in colorful costumes and also features a row of makeshift stalls selling local food and merchandize inside the Municipal compound; live band concerts of well-known performers, photo contest and exhibits; traditional filipino games as well as singing and dance competitions among every barangay and school of the town. – from Wikipedia.
It was last January 18, 2013 that the street dance competitions was held. Participants from Elementary and High School divisions started the parade at around 8 am you can hear the Minasa song all over the town of Bustos, Bulacan. The weather was not that good, as it was all cloudy that morning, but nothing can stop the festivities of Minasa. People came out of their houses and waited in the street as all participants was dancing with full energy. From Bustos memorial the parade ends at the Bustos town Municipal where all participants and Bustosenyos were waiting to see all the performance.
