Have you ever been to a place called Caluya, Antique?
Well, I was. Lucky enough to witness a place that is still undiscovered. Beaches are still undeveloped and water as clean as it can be. Words aren’t just enough to express the beauty of Caluya, Antique so let my photos speak out. No doubt that Boracay is one of the best beaches in the Philippines in terms of white sands and clear water but Caluya, Antique can offer a paradise as beautiful as Boracay and other beaches in the Philippines. Here are some of the photos of my Caluya, Antique trip.
These are just some of the photos taken from my Caluya, Antique trip. I hope you enjoy it and maybe soon you find yourself in one of the beautiful beaches and islet of Caluya, Antique.
How to get there:
Currently, the port in Caluya, Antique is still under construction and hoping to be able to operate by early next year for the summer. No airport yet but it is still on plan to build an airport in Caluya, Antique.
We took an early flight of Cebu Pacific from Manila to Roxas City. The reason we took this flight is that we wanted to visit Roxas City and also neighboring towns along the way. So from Roxas City, we get into a van for 2 hours ride going to Libertad port, where a boat ferry is waiting for us. From Libertad port it will take at least 2 to 3 more hours boat ride to reach the Caluya, Antique.
For an alternate route from Manila you either take a Caticlan or Kalibo Airport and then go to Libertad Port.
Where to stay?
I would say there are some houses in Caluya that can accommodate visitors for a certain fee. You can either ask the Municipality or the tourism office of Caluya, as there is still no lodging place.
So be prepared for a quiet and very different experience on this island of Caluya, Antique.
