I am always fascinated with waterfalls, that’s why during my trip to Bacolod City for the MassKara Festival. The group I joined in has an itinerary going to Negros Occidental for the Mambukal Waterfalls.
To go to Negros Occidental, Bacolod City is 55 minutes from Manila by air, with Philippine Airlines, Air Philippines, and Cebu Pacific Air providing daily flights. So you just have to choose which airlines you think will give you a cheaper ticket. Most of them offer a lower rate depending on the time of the year. Just a TIP, tickets during the Masskara Festival are higher specially if you are buying the month of the festival.
From Bacolod City, we hired a jeep going to Mambukal. An estimate of an hour to go to Mambukal. Upon entering the gate, you just need to pay an entrance fee of P50 per person.
Here are the photos from my trip to Mambukal Waterfalls. Enjoy.
Taking a group shot with the group called “We Are FUNtastic Philippines“. This group aims to promote the Philippines Tourism via photography. Showcasing the beauty of our country Philippines and posting it to the group Facebook Page. Anyone can join and share their photos of the Philippines.
After a few minutes of walk from the cottage. This is the first waterfall of Mambukal. We waited for an hour for the rain to stop. As it is dangerous to walk and hike going to the waterfalls. Its muddy and slippery, especially those rocks. The water is a little brownish due to the continuous rain during that day.
From the first waterfalls, you need to climb for 5 minutes to get to the second waterfall. So here is the photo of the second waterfall of Mambukal.
A little more climb around 2 minutes from the 2nd waterfalls you will reach this area where the third waterfalls of Mambukal are located. With the tour guide told us, it is not advisable to climb and go to the following waterfalls as the road is slippery and dangerous, we might hurt ourselves along the way. So we decided not to attempt to complete the seven waterfalls of Mambukal. I guess we need to go back next time where the weather is much better.
After a walk and a joyful view of the waterfalls, time to take some selfies.
The area of Mambukal waterfalls is not just popular with the seven waterfalls but also with the hot spring. They have this reservoir for the sulfuric water. People are not allowed to dip into this water.
If you enjoy kayaking you can go to this lagoon and have the water activities of kayaking.
The area is big and has facilities like parking, cottages for those who want to stay for a few days or nights, they also have restaurants and different swimming pools area.
If you like nature and waterfalls or even hot spring, Mambukal is the place to visit when you are in Bacolod City. But make sure you visit during the time of summer where there are no rains.
I hope you enjoy a little trip with my photos. Come visit Mambukal Waterfalls soon.
