Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival 2014

April 12, 2014 this is the day for the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Festival. This is also my first time witnessing such an event. It’s been on my bucket list to attend this festival. I was given a chance when a group of people that I joined called “WE ARE FUNTASTIC PHILIPPINES”  who promote Philippine Tourism is going to have their group tour called FUNlakwatsa. I listed my name on their group tour.

Meeting place was in Pasay, where a Van was hired from 4 am to 4:30 am we leave Pasay and head off to Lubao, Pampanga where the Hot Air Balloon Festival is going to be held.

From Pasay to Pampanga where we are going to meet the other member of the group is around 2 hours ride. Though the festival is going to start at 5:30 am where all the hot air balloons are being prepared and it starts to fly at around 7 am.

Here are the photos from the Hot Air Balloon Festival (HAB). Enjoy!Hot Air Balloon Festival

As the sunrises, most of the Hot Air Balloons are being prepared. Some are ready to fly and some still need some hot air.

It was a great day, the weather was nice. The sun was up already when all the Hot Air Balloon flew. Two companions were able to ride the Hot Air Balloons. I wanted to but was not lucky enough that any pilot offers me or maybe I was to shy to ask them. Hehehehe. But all in all, it was a great experience. My first ever Hot Air Balloon festival.

By the way, I was given a media pass which has access to the area where all the Hot Air Balloons are being prepared.

I do hope next year (2015), I can attend this event again. Which I heard are going to return to Clark Pampanga.

Travel Tips: There are many buses going to the North, either you take those bus companies that are located in Pasay or Cubao (Victory, Five Star, Partas etc.) which are going to North Luzon. Just take any bus going to Pampanga. The estimated travel time is 2-3 hours depending on the traffic.
